Every Vivi Ami piece begins with wax. Vivian uses the lost wax casting method, one of the oldest jewelry making techniques in the world.
Each design is first carved by hand in wax, then submerged in plaster to create a mold. Inside the kiln, the wax melts away entirely, leaving behind an empty vessel that holds every detail of the original carving. Molten metal is then poured in, flowing into each crevice and curve until the design lives again, this time in solid silver or gold. It is how a shape that began in Vivian's hands becomes a piece that lasts for generations.
